Terms of Use
Effective October 8, 2026
These terms govern the use of the EDETODOS mobile application (the “App”), developed by William Hiciano (the “Developer”). By downloading or using the App you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. What the App offers
The App shows, in an easy-to-read format, the scheduled maintenance (power outages) published by EdeEste, Edesur and Edenorte, and lets you schedule alerts before each outage. It is free.
2. Information for guidance only
The information comes from the power companies’ public reports (documents and social media posts) and from the public list of the CUED (Unified Council of Distribution Companies), and is processed automatically, including reading images with artificial intelligence. It is for guidance only.
- Power companies may change, suspend or reschedule maintenance without notice: even if an outage appears in the App, the power may stay on, and vice versa.
- Scheduled maintenance is shown. Faults, suspensions and schedule changes that the power companies post on social media are included when they can be read, but they are not always detected or delivered in time: a fault not appearing in the App does not mean there is none.
- In EdeEste, the same neighborhood can appear in more than one circuit. The App marks as “possible” the areas the company does not officially confirm. Check that your circuit and its outages match your area.
- There may be errors, delays or omissions in reading the reports, and some circuits or areas may be missing.
- Do not rely on the App as your only source for important decisions, such as medical equipment, personal safety or critical activities. Always check with your power company.
3. Independence
EDETODOS is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by EdeEste, Edesur, Edenorte or any government entity. The companies’ names and marks belong to their owners; they are used only to identify the source of the information, and the App does not reproduce their logos.
3b. Tips
The App lets you leave voluntary tips ("Buy me a coffee") to support its development. They are one-time payments processed by your phone’s app store (Apple or Google), they do not unlock features or content, and the App stays the same for everyone. Refunds are handled under the store’s policies.
4. Permitted use
You may use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
- Use the App in a way that harms its operation or its servers.
- Extract the App’s data in bulk or by automated means.
- Copy, modify, distribute or sell the App or parts of it without permission.
5. Content you provide
If you write community references (for example, the name of a neighborhood for a circuit), that content will be visible to other users. You are responsible for what you write: do not post personal data or false, offensive or illegal content. We may remove any content that breaks these terms. By submitting it, you allow us to display it in the App.
6. Intellectual property
The App, its design, code and marks belong to the Developer. The maintenance report data is public information from the power companies; third-party texts, images and marks belong to their owners.
7. Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind regarding accuracy, continuous availability or absence of errors.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Developer will not be liable for damages or losses arising from the use of the App or the information it shows, including those caused by unreported outages, schedule changes or incorrect information.
9. Changes to the App and these terms
We may modify, suspend or withdraw the App, and update these terms. We will publish the new version on this page with its effective date. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the new terms.
10. App store terms
If you downloaded the App from the App Store or Google Play, Apple’s or Google’s terms also apply. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App or its content.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Dominican Republic, and any dispute will be submitted to the competent courts of the Dominican Republic.
